KYC Analyst – Tokyo, Japan at Omise

Omise is hiring a fulltime KYC (Know Your Customer) Analyst to conduct on-boarding and customer/merchant due diligence. This role will involve undertaking of KYC processes, daily merchant operations and periodic merchant reviews, to comply with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) & card scheme regulations.

This role is open to applicants with 0-2 years of experience, with potential to grow into a team lead.

0-2 years’ experience in merchant acceptance/KYC role. Fresh-grads are encouraged to apply.
Knowledgeable in AML/KYC processes and regulations required for card networks (VISA/MasterCard/AMEX/ JCB/ etc.)
Experience in dealing with banks and regulators.
Japan-national with preferred background in finance, banking, or payment services providers.
Effective communication skills in English and Japanese.


Ensure compliance with KYC and AML standards and regulatory requirements.
Review merchant applications and verify that application data is complete and meets establishment standards.
Complete analysis of transactional information to identify risks, trends, and potential fraudulent activities and take action of any transactions that appear unusual.
Effectively arrange suspicious activity reports in compliance with established regulatory guidelines and time-frame.
Collection of documents and data necessary for application approval.
Perform regular KYC checks with existing merchants.
Contact and coordinate with related department in integration process.
Perform general support for merchant inquiries.
