Collections Executive at Funding Societies

Job Scope:

  • Review and monitor general collection and delinquent accounts, and ensure accounts are updated in our internal system in a timely manner. Highlight which accounts require special attention and investigative actions. Effectively follow-up payments with borrowers
  • Apply appropriate procedures and evaluate changes in borrower's financial status to determine feasibility of securing repayment and best methods of locating borrowers and verifying borrowers' details through other sources (either informally through relatives, neighbours and debtors/suppliers or official platforms)
  • Actively contact borrowers and remind them of past due accounts, and where necessary negotiate any payment issues and make workable repayment arrangements. Explain diligently and tactfully borrower's legal obligations, any penalties and consequences of non-payment, and applicable regulations/rules for payment in question
  • Document and report all correspondence and analysis, and maintain confidentiality of all records and information in accordance to standard laws. Gather and document all necessary information which can be used as evidence in legal proceedings
  • Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with individuals and the wider team, including external stakeholders such as legal officers and investors
  • Perform administrative and relief duties in relation to Credit and Collection functions or as assigned to you


  • Preferably 2-3 years experience in credit management and debt collection industry. Experience in handling SME portfolio, excellent negotiation skills, and ability to bring in full settlements would be an advantage
  • Independent with persuasive interpersonal skills and results-driven
  • Target oriented and ability to work under pressure to meet targets
  • Good communications and written skills in English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to speak in Chinese Dialects would be an advantage
  • Familiar with Excel and accounting analysis
